Villa Front Garden

This front garden to a double fronted Victorian villa sits within a conservation area with a restrictive article 4 directive meaning there were tight parameters to work within, mostly concerning material use and percentage of hardscaping vs. planting. The garden had been decimated in the 1980’s and was given over to crazy paving and concrete when we were brought in.

The current owners wanted a low maintenance garden that felt contemporary (whilst being respectful of the context of the house and the street).

Many period features were re-instated (specified ironmongery, mosaic pathway, reclaimed brick) and the decision was taken to go bold and minimal with the planting as well as to add a bespoke bin/ bike and wood store.
